Work
I work as a Teaching Fellow in the Newcastle University Computing Science department teaching second and third year computing science modules on Graphical User Interfaces, Artificial Intelligence for Games, Advanced Computer Graphics and Information Management. I also do research as part of the Digital Interaction group in Space 2 Culture Lab and I am involved in several projects looking at designing with or for elderly people or people with cognitive impairments.
I have recently completed a PhD at Newcastle University School of Computing Science looking into the nature of Participatory Design with seniors who have some form of dementia. My work looks specifically for ways to facilitate the interactions between designers and people with dementia and leads to a lot of insights into the nature of interactions between designers and participants in this process as well as insights into design as a whole.
